About the Artist

Helen Viebrock, Artist
To be an artist is to yearn every day to put some paint on a surface, to create, to try something new, to stumble on a happy accident, to struggle with darks and lights and focal points…Sometimes, though, life gets in the way. Whether a musician or artist, sometimes our art creativity needs to be put away…only to re-emerge in a new form, perhaps rusty, struggling, but new, like a new vision. After all, art is created from inside ourselves. My medium of choice is oils, preferring oils to any other medium. I love the buttery, intense color, and the fact I can paint over (!) any flaws. As is my life as a musician, I am privately trained, and have studied with fine instructors throughout the region. Effort and work, always learning, my journey continues.
This it shall be. Stay tuned for more journey of this upstate New York and Connecticut artist.
